Earth Day just passed (April 22) but sadly, a lot of people didn't even know. Every day should be Earth day – it's the planet we live on & we should learn more & care about it more often than we do. My son is a nature nut but I'm not really (I'm learning along with him) – which is why I find this 25-page educational guide created by Disney’s Animal Kingdom Education Team very helpful! It introduces kids in grades 2–4 to the amazing and often unseen world of pollinators through science, math and art! Activity sheets, games and units of inquiry help curious young minds explore the plant and animal worlds as well as the many ways that humans depend on them.
My son's favorite activity was making the Hummingbird flip book! Click below to download the kit (a PDF file will open).
And if you haven't already, be sure to check out Disneynature's Wings of Life which is out on DVD & Blu-ray!
