Are you cleaning or healthing?

Spring has finally arrived down South! While many are jumping for joy that the warm weather is finally here, I'm here terrified. The pollen that has already covered my car more than once this weekend was a scary amount for just the beginning of Spring which means I'm sure to encounter a lot of sneezing noses around here! I live with all of my family & a lot of them have allergies. I was sure I was going to be cleaning up a storm but I was introduced to Lysol's concept of Healthing so I'm making sure I'm taking extra steps to keep my family healthy.

What is healthing you ask?

  • Healthing is the extension of LYSOL and its Mission for Health, the motivation behind the creation of their products that are centered on killing 99.9 percent of germs and providing solutions for the home that help promote good hygiene and disinfection.
  • The idea of Healthing goes beyond cleaning – and looks more holistically at how a healthy home helps to keep families thriving.
  • One important way to integrate Healthing into your home is to understand the difference between cleaning and disinfecting, as both are important components of the Healthing process.  While cleaning and organizing is certainly important, killing germs on commonly touched surfaces can lower the risk of spreading bacteria and viruses between family members.

In order for me to make sure the rest of us stay healthy & kill all those germs that are sure to be flying everywhere, I'm stocking up on my favorite Lysol product – an oldie but a goodie – the original disinfectant spray. Door knobs, light switches and faucet handles are my favorite places to spray down since they're the most touched by everyone. On top of already wiping everything down, disinfecting everything is more important to me – especially with young kids in the home who usually have to be reminded to wash their hands.

Lysol Healthing

TV personality Giuliana Rancic has partnered together with Lysol to visit YMCAs in select markets across the country to demonstrate Healthing in action. At each YMCA location, Lysol will provide attendees with hands-on education about the products and steps required to practice improved hygiene habits in their own home, while making the idea fun and relatable to kids. Lysol will also provide educational information and disinfecting products to the local YMCAs, along with the donation of a one-year membership to a deserving family. So amazing.

Everyone loves a clean home but if you want a clean and HEALTHY home, be sure to learn more about Healthing & tips on how to keep your family healthy on the Lysol website  or you can connect with them on Facebook  or check out their Guidebook on Healthing. If you're one to Spring clean, I'm hoping you make the extra steps to Spring Health your home this year – I certainly am!
