About the film:
In Edwardian London in the neighborhood of Bloomsbury, Wendy loves to tell her brothers John & Michael stories about Peter Pan. They love to act out the stories she tells them, much to their father's dismay. He tells Wendy she needs to grow up & will be moved out of the nursery. That night, her parents go out & the Peter Pan from the book comes to the nursery to look for his shadow. Wendy tells him that she has to grow up & can no longer tell stories. After sprinkling some fairy dust on them, Peter takes Wendy, John & Michael to his home, Never Land, so that Wendy can be the Lost Boys' mother & tell them stories.
The Lost Boys are six boys who dress up in animal costume pajamas who see Peter as their leader. They almost kill Wendy after a jealous Tinker Bell tells them to but luckily, Peter saves her. After exploring with the Lost Boys, John & Michael find themselves captured alongside the Lost Boys by the island's Indians because they believe they are responsible for taking the chief's daughter, Tiger Lily. Peter and Wendy free her when they see Captain Hook & Smee have her.
Hook plots to take advantage of Tinker Bell's jealousy of Wendy, tricking her into revealing the location of Peter's lair. Wendy & her brothers want to go back home & invite Peter and the Lost Boys to return to London and be adopted by their parents. The Lost Boys agree but Peter refuses – he doesn't want to grow up. The pirates wait outside of the lair & capture the Lost Boys and Wendy & her brothers as they exit, leaving behind a time bomb to kill Peter. What will become of Wendy, the boys & Peter? You're going to have to see the movie to find out!
Our thoughts on the film:
We were SO excited to have been able to get our copy yesterday. We quickly made some popcorn & I took out my favorite Tink cup to enjoy the movie with my little one before seeing it again at night with the whole family.
My little man also took out his Jake sword & all of his other Jake toys to watch the movie with him. I have now been given the task to get him Peter Pan toys that just need to watch the movie with him too. x_x
He couldn't get enough of the movie & absolutely loved the Storybook app. I love his facial expression in this picture. He was like this the whole time! Jumping around & rooting for Peter all the way!
This is one classic movie that never gets old. We all loved it & it looks even more amazing on Blu-ray with the high def picture & sound. It's definitely a must see!
And this has nothing to do with the movie but I squealed throughout the promos for Wreck-It Ralph, The Little Mermaid 3D, and Monsters University. Yes, I'm just like Peter Pan in that I never want to grow up! 😛
Check out some clips of the movie below!
